Meet the original woman through the eyes of artists, writers, and poets across the centuries. This 90-minute journey explores the story of Eve through Jewish interpretation, visual art, literature, and poetry. Together we will consider how generations have understood,
reimagined, and wrestled with the figure of the first woman.
But wait — was Eve really first? Jewish tradition has long wondered whether Adam had a wife before Eve. Enter Lilith: rebellious, mysterious, independent, feared, and endlessly fascinating.
In this session, we explore the many stories surrounding Lilith, including later imaginative traditions in which Lilith and Eve eventually become friends.
